Broiler Cage Equipment: Line, Materials, Group Size and How to Choose
- A broiler cage line is the stack, grow-out mesh, feed, nipples, manure path and the way birds leave the house.
- Group size is chosen from bird numbers and how much of that line is automatic. Standard groups we cut: 1.25 m × 1 m, 1.7 m × 1.5 m, 3 m × 1.8 m.
- Send flock size, finish weight, and whether feed, manure and harvest stay manual. Weifang Splendid will set the group and the motors.
Broiler cage equipment is stacked grow-out for meat birds. An RFQ that says “battery cage dimensions” on this page is asking for the group footprint of that stack, not a second product. Floor pans are a different house and stay off this packing list unless you want two jobs.

What broiler cage equipment includes
The frame holds the stack. Mesh and the cell floor take finishing weight. Mash arrives in a trough or hopper. Water sits on nipples that can be raised. Droppings leave on a belt or a scrape. At thin-out or load-out the birds leave through the doors or on a harvest line. Manual cages keep more of those jobs on the crew. Automatic cages add motors to feed, manure and often harvest.
| On the list | Manual cage | Automatic cage |
|---|---|---|
| Feed | Cart or hopper filled by hand | Silo or chain to the trough |
| Water | Nipples, height set on walks | Nipples on a line that rises with the flock |
| Manure | Scrape from the aisle | Belt on a clock |
| Harvest | Crew at the doors | Bird-out line |
Materials for a meat stack
Use galvanized frame and grow-out mesh. The wire has to hold a finishing broiler, not the lightest sheet in the yard. Troughs and nipples are part of the same metal and plastic list. A manure belt is specified when the stack is too high to scrape. Plastic slats belong in a floor house; they are not the cage floor. We do not print a zinc weight we have not measured for your order.

Why farms put broilers in cages
Birds are off the litter. Manure can leave the stack instead of building underfoot. Feed and water stay at the cell. Catching is a door or a harvest line, not a sweep of the whole floor. More birds can sit in the same footprint if the house and the group allow it. Those are operating reasons. They are not a printed percentage, and they do not make a floor house wrong when the crew already runs pans.
How to choose the cage
Two numbers decide the group: how many birds you will place, and how much of the line must run without a bucket. A small flock with a crew on the aisle can stay on a shorter manual group. A large flock that needs feed, manure and harvest on motors takes the longer group and the automatic list. Finish weight still has to be on the RFQ so mesh and cell are calculated — we do not invent birds per cell on this page.
| You send | What it sets |
|---|---|
| Bird numbers and finish weight | Which group and how the cell is built |
| Manual or automatic feed, manure, harvest | Motors, belt, bird-out line — or none of those |
| House length, width, eave | How many groups fit once the size is chosen |

Standard group dimensions
These are the plan sizes of one group — length × width — that we cut. They are the answer when the RFQ asks for battery cage dimensions on broilers.
| Group (L × W) |
|---|
| 1.25 m × 1 m |
| 1.7 m × 1.5 m |
| 3 m × 1.8 m |
Which of the three you get is not a style choice. It follows flock size and whether the cage is manual or automatic. House drawings come after that, to count how many groups sit in the shed.
FAQ
How do I choose the right broiler cage?
Give bird numbers, finish weight, and which jobs must run automatic. The group and the motor list follow those three.
What materials should broiler cages use?
Galvanized frame and grow-out mesh, trough or hopper, nipples, and a manure path if the stack cannot be scraped.
What are the standard dimensions?
One group: 1.25 m × 1 m, 1.7 m × 1.5 m, or 3 m × 1.8 m. Pick by flock size and automation.
What does battery cage mean on a broiler RFQ?
The stacked meat group and its plan size. Send bird numbers with that request.
Send flock size and what must run without a bucket.
Birds, finish weight, manual or automatic feed / manure / harvest. Weifang Splendid will mark the group.
